Mission Statement

Real Human Intelligence, RHI, is here to promote, share, identify and celebrate real human talent, their skills, ingenuity, intelligence and, most importantly, their 'work' and 'accomplishments', whatever that may be.

Recognition for real human work

We all deserve credit and recognition for the things we do in life: our ideas, our creations, and even our labour.

We embrace all tools to achieve our goals, including knowledge passed down to us, skills and knowledge we have earned and trained for, and absorbing and utilising the latest technologies, all coupled with our intuition, gut and common sense.

Not against AI, but be in the driving seat

With the speed that technology is moving, it is for most somewhat overwhelming. We, the collective 'we', human beings now exposed to it, are not against AI and the astonishing results it produces. Nor should using AI disqualify you from engaging with it, provided you have a conscience. But AI needs to be handled carefully and harnessed intelligently. We should be in the driving seat and we should all determine our own destinies.

The reality we cannot ignore

As it stands, no one, ironically, with intelligence should deny the current reality and the direction humanity is going in.   Otherwise, you will be left behind, you will become surplus to requirements, and lose your jobs and careers.

Naturally, no one wants to become a statistic or be controlled by the few because it suits them. And we must remember that, as incredible human beings, we must continue to endeavour to showcase our talent, and display our assets with credibility and accountability in everything we create.

Mark your work

To achieve this, we must reverse engineer the current status and psyche, and mark or stamp our 'work' as proof of its authenticity.

Protecting our future

In this uncertain world, where we are being replaced by automation, robots and super computers, we cannot afford to be left behind.

An uncertain agenda is out there. That is for sure. Therefore, we need to take measures to protect our existence, our livelihoods and our legacies.

A movement that can only be positive

Our mission may repeat its message, but that is the point, and it can only be a positive thing.

Like minded souls appreciate the talents of other human beings, the efforts it takes, and the outcomes of their endeavours.

Ultimately, for this mission to be successful, like anything, it needs to create a movement that grows and swells to all corners of this world.

This is truly a critical time for the majority of us, and a time where we need to embrace, with open eyes and arms, what we can and need to do for survival. And, bizarre as it may seem, from this day forward we must never forget…

Real Human Beings. Real Human Talent and Real Human Intelligence.

A word from Nick

Nick Sherard — Founder, Real Human Intelligence

I started RHI because I kept hearing the same thing, from musicians, filmmakers, artists, engineers, writers, business colleagues, people who had dedicated their lives to their craft, who were now questioning their place in a world, their relevance, as it seemed to be automating around them. They were even questioning their very existence.

What were they referring to…? The elephant in the room.

I first heard about 'AI' back in 2019, but I didn't really grasp the ramifications of it at the time, due to other distractions. It wasn't high on my agenda, though I was told the 'AI Era' was going to be launched in 2030 as part of the '2030 Agenda Reset'.

Following the Covid pandemic, around 2022, I believe AI was accelerated and brought forward, and I wondered, as most people might have done at the time, 'where did this suddenly come from?'

AI as we know it today is a supercomputer on steroids, but who is truly behind it? It feels it could almost be the 'Wizard' of Oz behind the curtain in the Emerald City, but my gut tells me AI was probably around for decades and just hadn't been switched on. Its sudden popularity and its capability have been mind boggling. And in my industry, for instance CGI FX applied to a scene in a movie, what would usually take hours, days or weeks is suddenly being created in seconds. And if you are someone like me who thinks outside the box, this was highly questionable.

With the world questioning the good, the bad and the ugly of AI, in the relatively short time that I have interacted with it, I saw this as being pretty serious and potentially dangerous.

As this technology, or Big Brother's control over it, evolves, to me it could get out of control, and may already have in some areas.

However, in my creative world, initially, I was not only somewhat excited but at the same time shocked about what it could do. Either way, it seemed it was here to stay and was gathering momentum.

The question that kept lingering in the aether for me was: 'do I engage in it, or embrace it with caution?', whilst protecting my integrity and dignity. It only made me question it more, and the consequence of my demons was how to make it a positive thing, and thus I created RHI.

I saw this not as a meaningless exercise or a campaign of fear, but as a statement, or movement, of self pride and worth. A necessity.

I had a sort of epiphany, maybe a calling, and in this short time that we have on this planet, I felt and wanted to give a positive spin on the current situation and make a difference, with the ultimate aim that every human creator, every thinker, every maker has a mark, a stamp that they can put on their work that says: a real person made this.

Look anywhere, on social media, in industry and more, and it is almost impossible to know what is real and what is not. Industries, people and others are avoiding labelling their work as 'AI made', and soon AI driven computers will create AI content to the point where it becomes over saturated and drives industries into the ground, with results like: 'What is the point? Who are they making it for? Where is the creativity, the originality? I am simply no longer required.'

I, for one, do exist, and will stand up and be counted.

Artificial Intelligence doesn't have vision, heart or soul. It's artificial, after all.

My vision and mission were affirmed when I was recently at the historic town of Portmeirion in Wales, and saw how beautiful it was on so many levels. Created by the Welsh architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis. His incredible masterpiece, and his motto, spoke out to me: 'Cherish the past, adorn the present, construct for the future.'*

I have given birth to the movement. I believe it will get traction. Like-minded souls from around the world, I hope, will support the movement, discover great people and projects here, and share and showcase their collective creative works. And I believe that, over time, it will inadvertently become a movement of something that truly matters to everyone, for a very long time.

'We should never forget the past… it gave us the future.'

'We should capitalise on the present… it gave us adventure.'

'We should embrace the future… as we, humans, are here to stay… forever!'
